Come and take it – Texas Privacy edition

Privacy, Technology and Perspective

Come and take it – Texas Privacy edition: This week, the Watchdog of the Dallas Morning News, Dave Lieber, wrote a column on consumer privacy that everyone should read, but especially every Texan.

Specifically, Lieber describes how HB 4518 (a/k/a the Texas Consumer Privacy Act) was gutted during the recent legislative session in Austin by a swarm of lobbyists, mostly from certain private sector companies that he names. Lieber notes (correctly, we believe): “How [the Texas Consumer Privacy Act] died and who killed it is relevant because web privacy is one of the great issues of our time -- now and into the future.” You can (and should) read more by following this link:
